Bertie Gilbert is a 26-year-old director and writer based in London.

Since he was 16, Bertie has accumulated a diverse portfolio - directing narrative shorts, music videos, documentaries and more. After first finding success on YouTube, where his bleakly whimsical short films have been poured over by hundreds of thousands of loyal viewers, he has gone on to garner a wealth of experience in the linear film world.

In 2019 Bertie created a short for Channel 4’s Random Acts, and in 2021 his film ‘Please Care!’ starring Fleabag’s Hugh Skinner was screened at a number of Bafta-accredited festivals and won ‘Best British Director’ at the British Short Film Awards. In 2016 Bertie was also part of the Dazed 100: a 'definitive list of creatives shaping youth culture'.

Bertie is a compassionate, versatile filmmaker and child of the internet with his finger on the pulse of what other young creatives want to see.
